As a first time dog owner, one of the most surprising things that I‘ve come to learn about myself is how often I plan things around how dog-friendly it is.

Even when it comes to planning a birthday for my partner, or even when I’m looking for a romantic day trip idea, I find myself constantly gravitating towards activities and accommodations that are pet-friendly.

And… I know I’m not the only one! There are so many of us in Ontario doing the same thing! With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, so many of us are looking for dog-friendly romantic getaways that have some combination of:

  • a hot tub or sauna, or both preferred
  • an onsite spa / massage option
  • a lakeside or mountain view
  • an extra or unique activities and services
  • Are couple / small group friendly (and not a 12-person cottage/mansion!)

Rejoice everyone! Today I’ll be sharing with you the best, most recommended, dog-parent approved romantic getaway options — vetted by folks from communities like the Dog-Friendly Places in Ontario — you can bet they are pet pawrents approved! (pst — I’m not sponsored or have any affiliated ties with them — it’s just an ultra helpful group I’d recommend to any dog owner in Ontario!)
